Ballerina baker

It’s not that Ellie McKittrick thought the sixth grade was going to be easy. It’s that she didn’t think it was going to come with frosting-covered humiliation. And she really didn’t think it would come with a cookie-hating bully (really, who hates cookies?) who takes great joy in Ellie’s eternal struggle with gravity. And Ellie really, really didn’t think she’d discover that a shady businessman is trying to get her parents to sell the family bakery. The same bakery Ellie plans to run one day (like her dad), while also being a professional ballerina (like her mom). Lofty goals? Sure. But Ellie has time to figure it all out. At least she thought she did. Ellie must now find a way to save the bakery and prove to her family — and herself — just what she and her dreams are made of.

A voice-driven middle grade novel with themes of family, believing in oneself, and dreaming outside the box.

Status: Manuscript complete. Currently querying agents.

Ballerina baker 2 (working title)

No one believes Ellie when she says father was sabotaged at last year’s World’s Pastry Cup (or as they say in Paris, Coupe de Monde de Patisserie). This is her chance to prove them wrong and help clear her family’s name. But what she uncovers may be far worse than what she had ever suspected.

This voice-driven adventure takes Ellie McKittrick on an international adventure in search of the truth.
